Col Ron Foxcroft is the Regiment’s Honorary Colonel and chairs its Senate and the Argyll Regimental Foundation. It is no fluke that Colonel Fox, as he is called within the Regiment, is a well-known figure locally. Born in Hamilton (always a good start in this life), he now resides in Burlington with his wife, Marie. He has three sons: Steve, Dave, and Ronnie. He is a successful businessman, the owner of Fluke Transport, and the founder and owner of Fox 40 International Inc.

Always hesitant to blow his own whistle (except as a referee), Ron is a retired professional basketball referee who officiated at the 1976 Olympic Gold Medal game. He is now a referee evaluator for the NBA. He was listed as one of the 52 most influential persons in North American officiating history and was named one of Canada’s top 10 entrepreneurs by Profit magazine. A man of considerable charm, boundless energy, and ceaseless good cheer, he is devoted to the local area and is a significant civic leader. He has chaired capital campaigns for McMaster University, St Joseph’s Hospital, and Hillfield Strathallan College. A past president of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, he has been inducted into the Hamilton Gallery of Distinction and the Burlington Entrepreneur Hall of Fame, and has been honoured as Hamilton’s Distinguished Citizen of the Year.
